There is no "best" Magus. Different kinds of Magi are good (or in comparison to the other kinds "best") in different areas. All of them are viable. If you want ranged combat, be an Eldritch Archer. And then build a crit-fishing build. A 15-20 crit with Shocking Grasp attached is very mean, especially if you take Critical Focus eventually. With Spell Combat you can have Shocking Grasp attached to your first attack every round.This build is focused on using Force Punch which has 10 dice at level 10 and is the only Melee Touch spell that can be Metamagic by Empowered and Maximized (Other are bugged) or alternatively uses the Magus Arcana.
