The main power jet may be clogged or the fuel level in the bowl is too low, fuel filter clogged, port to fuel pump from crank case may be loose. I have run straight sea foam a few times and it worked for me.

Eventually after a couple of tries or after starting it with the throttle raised it would continue to run and act normal.Another good test to isolate the key switch/harness wiring from the battery/starter system is to jump the solenoid to engage the starter. Do this: 1) Disconnect small solenoid wire from the starter. 2) turn key to run position. 3) using a conductor, jump the starter motor battery terminal to the solenoid terminal.
